The Blondie Brimhall clinic March 11 & 12(Fri/Sat) is ON and filling FAST. If you want to ride with this engaging, fun trainer, contact me asap, and get your check sent in to reserve your spot. $65 for one ride, $130 for two. There are only three spots left on Friday, two left on Sunday. We will not keep your money if for some reason you cannot ride, but we do need to plan the ride times and be sure of our scheduling. I will take a wait list as well. I will email ride times several days in advance, so please let me know if you have a time preference and I will do my best to accomodate.

The Trisha Kerwin clinic is now April 2nd & 3rd, a Sat/Sun. I expect this clinic to also fill fast. Trisha is a very popular trainer and rider, and has personally brought numerous horses of all breeds and types through the levels from just under saddle through FEI. If you want to know why it is important to do things a certain way now so that you will have success years from now with your horse, you will not want to miss this clinic.

The Stephanie Brown-Beamer clinic is now May 14 & 15,again Sat/Sun. While this may seem a ways off to you now, you will definitely not want to miss out on this one. Stephanie has extensive education in the field of rider biomechanics, riding and training with the top clinicians and judges in that field. If you sometimes wonder why you think you are asking your horse to do one thing, and he keeps doing something else, you need to ride with Steph. Your horse will thank you! She also has brought numerous horses from start to successful show careers under their amateur and junior owners.

$$ & Logistics: Clinic fees are $65 per ride, and include your snacks and drinks for the day. Auditing will be free, but if you are auditing, or grooming, and didn’t bring your own snacks & drinks, please bring $5 to donate to the food fund. Also bring your own chairs, sunhats and sunscreen. No outside dogs please-the locals might not appreciate having to sort out hierarchy. HELMETS: the USEF now requires SEI-approved helmets at all dressage competitions, effective March 1. All riders riding in clinics, and show participants, must wear helmets. We will exempt the Cowboy riders over the age of 18, but if you don’t have a western saddle on your horse and a cowboy hat on your head, you must have a helmet strapped on when in the saddle.

Custom Saddlery will also be scheduling a saddle fitting to coincide hopefully with the Trisha Kerwin clinic. Details to follow. There will be a fee to the saddle fitter for this. If you just can’t find the right saddle, you might want to plan on participating. Custom provides saddles for Oak Hills Stables/Trisha Kerwin, Steffen Peters, David Blake and many other very successful riders. Check out their website at www.mysaddle.com

Thank you all for your support of Dressage in our community. It is my hope that these educational opportunities for our small community will open the door to exciting things. I would love to organize a nationally recognized dressage show in the next couple of years, and hope to get the momentum needed with these clinics and schooling shows. Most of all, thanks to Ryon and Holly Gardner, the owners of Lava Bluffs Equestrian Center, for making all this possible with their beautiful facility.
